Today, Apple announced that their App Store topped over 40 billion app downloads, half of which happened in the last year. Their count is bassed on unique downloads excluding both updates and redownloads on the same account. The store is currently home to over 3/4 of a million live unique titiles with over a million that have gone through the process. In the last six months the the user base has grown from 400,000 accounts to 500,000.
It has been an incredible year for the iOS developer community,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “Developers have made over seven billion dollars on the App Store, and we continue to invest in providing them with the best ecosystem so they can create the most innovative apps in the world.
