Yesterday, we covered a rumor named the Dream Jailbreak that promised an all inclusive Untetethered jailbreak for iOS 6. After jailbreaking and reporting on jailbreaks for almost three years fake ones are easy to spot. The security behind iOS has grown over the years making this task harder and harder for developers that have been working on the subject for years. When some unknown figure enters the arena and wants to work alone you really have to question their motives. Even the fact the the jailbreak release has a set time is fishy. The creator of the video probably spent a lot of time editing it to make sure that everything lined up. If they had a real jailbreak you think he could demo it in a way that couldn’t be recreated by anyone. Regardless, im going to end it on that as I think we gave them enough publicity.
If you don’t believe me heres some input from jailbreak developers.
Thankfully you all can prove this to yourselves :) Run redsn0w with “stashing” turned on.Compare verbose text and progress bar progress :)

Lol at poorly crafted “Cydia” app icon – it’s a webclip, it’s fake

On a certain recent video, congratulations: it’s the most well-done fake I’ve ever seen. But there are issues: how many can you spot?
