As reported by TechCrunch, Facebook is set for integration with iOS as soon as the next big version of the operating system rolls around. Just like Twitter, this feature will make social networking from your iDevice incredibly easy, as two of the biggest platforms will be accessible system wide.

After much speculation, Facebook integration will indeed be baked into the latest version of iOS, we’ve learned…It’s important to note that Apple being Apple, something could change in the next week and a half (see again: Facebook/Ping). But as of now, Facebook is a go in iOS “Sundance”. One thing still being hammered out according to our sources is exactly how sharing will work. Sharing is the other big part of the iOS/Twitter integration, and will be important for iOS/Facebook integration as well.

This news comes as little surprise, since hints of such integration have been floating around since iOS 4, and after Tim Cook hinted during his D10 interview that more could be expected from Facebook and Apple. How useful do you think this integration will be?
