Today here at Vidcon 2013 Youtube/Google took the keynote stage to address many common complaints and new features they had implemented over the last few years. They had a big emphasis on the mobile environment as many more people around the world are being introduced to the internet via the growing smartphone and tablet market. As you probably know they have been hard at work managing their own independent app since iOS 6 and adding new features more often due to their accessibility to push out updates.
During their presentation they demoed a new version of the mobile Youtube app that will be available soon for iOS and Android. The update includes many new features such as the ability to watch videos multitasked into a small window in the corner while viewing channels in fullscreen. In addition, the update helps integrate playlists better into the mobile scene by making the series auto play and add additional controls to navigate through the series. While those appear to be the two main features the design looks quite different and there may be many new features in store.
