With the public release of iOS 7 today, there has been a lot of talk about whether or not you should upgrade to Apple’s latest version of iOS. Especially for those stuck on 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 without a jailbreak, it is a big question. On the one hand, the evad3rs have been looking into an iOS 7 jailbreak, and the results are promising so far, but hacker and developer @winocm has been working on jailbreaking the remaining iOS 6 firmwares that do not have an untethered jailbreak. Today, a video was posted that shows the jailbreak working (albiet buggy), which is some very promising news.
There is no stated ETA along with this video, but things are obviously moving forward, and the video never would have been posted if there wasn’t some good confidence. In any case, it should help those stuck on iOS 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 be a little more patient about waiting for their jailbreak. Stay tuned for more updates about the iOS 7 jailbreak, and the imminent iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak.
