This Jailbreak tutorial works on iOS 5.1.1 for the supported devices: iPhone 4s, iPhone 4, iPhone 3Gs, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, the New iPad, iPad 2, and iPad 1.

Today Redsn0w 0.9.12b1 was released by the Dev Team, with support for all devices on the newest firmware 5.1.1. The jailbreak is untethered similar to the Absinthe jailbreak tool, and ultimately accomplishes the same thing. Like always there is no point in re jailbreaking so only use this tutorial if you are still not jailbroken. If you have been having problems with Absinthe then we recommend that you try Redsn0w as it is generally more reliable.
