The new MacBook Air 11” (2013) is a little guy, who packs a punch! Big things come in small sizes. Those words apply to this unit directly. This model features the 1.3 GHz dual-core Intel i5 Haswell chipset, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 256GB of Flash Storage, and the new Intel HD 5000 graphics card. All these in unison perform magic! Up first we test the start-up time. It clocks in at just under 13 seconds. Pretty quick! Next is Black Magic Disk Speed Test. The read and write speeds are ridiculous. We saw 700 MB/s on the Write speed, and 730 MB/s on the Read speed. I could not believe what my eyes were upon. Furthermore, GeekBench reported a score of 6700, which is pretty solid for a baseline MacBook Air. CineBench reported that 23 fps was presented in the GPU, and 2.46 points in the CPU. NovaBench scored the laptop with 580 points, which was just above last years MacBook Pros! Finally, the stress test. We opened all of the applications on the MacBook Air 11”, and it handled it well. The apps loaded quickly, thanks to the 256GB SSD.
