Pod2G’s Jailbreak Poll Ends Soon, Public Wants Jailbreak ASAP

As we reported earlier, Pod2G asked the public in a poll wether they wanted him to use his exploits on a jailbreak as soon as possible, or save them for iOS 6. With less than a day left and over 150,000 votes the poll shows that most people want immediate work on a jailbreak. According to his twitter account, Pod2G is making great progress but a public release could still be a while away.

Nikias Bassen Pod2G’s friend tweeted minutes ago “Yay @pod2g @p0sixninja, progress!!!” another hint that some real progress is forming.

    I’m very excited for this, I’m currently running 5.0.1 jailbroken but my top button and front glass are semi broken, I know from personal experience that I can take the phone to the genius bar and with a sad story they will replace for free (did you know this?!?!?!?!?!?!) but I also know the new phone will be on 5.1 SO I have been patiently waiting for this new jailbreak as I’ll restore my current phone to factory, take it in, have it replaced, then come home and jailbreak that 5.1!

       @phoenixwinch My friend had the same problem. He ended up buying a new screen which gave me the opportunity to open a 4s up and take it apart. It was so fun. The screen is the last part to take off with the new design. Definitely not a project that most should take on their own. Anyway, what if pod2g releases the JB, Apple releases 6.0 the same day without you hearing about it, and you go down to Apple and they give you a new 4s on 6.0? I guess it would be a horrible nightmare. I’m sure you will have enough time to do the swap. Just a random thought after reading your post.

         @meiguorenzaizhongguo I doubt Apple will respond that quickly to the new JB, when I broke the screen on my first iPhone 4, my neighbor told me to order the screen, I did and as he tried to repair it, he tore the data cable inside the phone, you couldn’t charge it, sync it, or back it up, I took it in to Apple, told them about everything except the JB and they replaced for free- no warranty or Apple care.

           @phoenixwinch hey I have a question. Im on 5.01 JB. since I bought it used so it has the last owner’s data on it. Im trying to restore it to a fresh 5.01 but it keeps giving me errors in itunes. Do you know these problems? I heard that you can not restore a JB right? thanks

          @CiBean @phoenixwinch Perhaps try from another computer, when I’ve had troubles with iTunes that sometimes helps but if I’m correct iTunes will demand you update if connected to the Internet and if you’re not connected it will tell you that you must be

           @CiBean  The problem is that you are trying to restore your 5.0.1 iPhone from a backup of a 5.1 restore point. I am sure there is is way around it. As for the update, just cancel the download and proceed with the restore. If I come across any info on that, I’ll let you know. I restored a device on 5.0.1 from a backup of a 5.0.1 restore point 2 days ago, so being that your older device was 5.1, I think that may be the problem. I will research it on my free time and let you know what I come up with. Good Luck!

           @meiguorenzaizhongguo btw, I think I will just live with it. Im trying to make i4siri work on my ipad 2 but no luck. keep saying “… try again in a lil while” :(

           @CiBean OK, you need to download Spire or Spite, then download AssistantServer Installer.

           @CiBean There doesn’t seem to be a way that I found that will allow you to back-up your info. However, you should be able to get all your music, videos, and apps through itunes. Your contacts, calenders, etc can be transferred through the cloud. With about 1 hour of time yo should have what you want on your device.

           @CiBean only way to get back 5.0.1 is if you saved your sh blobs.

           @thousandroof  His product is already on 5.0.1. He bought it used but he was trying to back up info from his original, which was on 5.1. Has nothing to do with Blobs. He just needed the easiest way to get the stuff on his older 5.1 device to his 5.0.1 device.

When he does the final restore he sets up as new phone & it is good from there.

    right now Im using a JB ipad 2. I bought it used tho. but when 5.1 JB is released, Im gonna buy a new one :D

    What has 5.1 really offered to people who have 5.0.1? All it did was added that minor feature of having the camera slider on the lockscreen. This will be such a waste of an exploit.

    This is one pointless poll. Something like some lame pop star teasing mindless fans with an, ‘you want more?!’ followed by, ‘you sure you want it now?!’. Like apple’s religious approach toward their tablet as if it was Moses bringing down the tablets from the mount, this poll is nothing but an effort to stoke up fervour of similar quality in the intermission between the first news of the ipad3 os being cracked and a public version being made available. Just shut up and get on with it please.
