RedSn0w iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak Updated To 0.9.10b3 To Fix Bugs

Just recently, the Dev Team released beta 3 of RedSn0w for Mac and Windows. This new update fixes an error that causes MobileSubstrate to sometimes crash on jailbroken devices. This error apparently only happened when RedSn0w was running over an existing jailbreak.

Update #3: The b3 version of redsn0w fixes a problem where re-running redsn0w over an existing jailbreak would cause MobileSubstrate-based apps to stop running until MS was installed again. Now you can re-run the redsn0w jailbreak step without worrying about that (but still remember to de-select the “Install Cydia” option if it’s already installed).

TIP: If auto-detection fails and redsn0w tells you no identifying data was found, you can always pre-select theappropriate 5.0.1 IPSW using “Extras->Select IPSW”.

Is this for the untethered jailbreak?

When I ran this new Redsnow over my exisiting tethered jailbreak, in the middle of the installation process with the white text/black background, I received this error: “6000ms giving up…” I waited 3-4 minutes and then my ipod was stuck at the Apple logo, so I had to”just boot tethered” to get to the home screen. How can I get the new Redsnow to work properly without this error popping up? Thank you.

    @brya123 I have 5.0.1, the latest version and it is tethered right now, but I want it untethered by using redsnow b3(latest version) to do so. How can I?

      @EddieLevit You got two choices 1. Open cydia search corona and dowload 2. (If that doesnt work) restore re-jailbreak

Do I have to restore with iTunes first..I’m already on 5.0.1 untethered can I run this program over my jailbreak?

  @rigs101 Dude there should be an update in your cydia for mobile substrate no restoring no rejailbreaking

      @rigs101 im not sure about background i have never used it but if your having a problem you (might) be able to fix it by restore and re-jailbreaking

  @rigs101 Yes but if you do a Backup first, it will restore all settings as well. Then Jailbreak with no problems! I did it yesterday and not have to change a thing. Just had to reinstall Cydia apps.

what do i do if itunes wont let me update to 5.0? i still have the 4.3.3 jailbreak for the iphone 4. if know please help or send me links. thanks

  @darth109 you have to restore your iphone before doing any updates or your iphone could be fucked (stuck on apple logo) and would have to be taken to apple to get fixed

damn the problems are not in the redsnow it is in CYDIA who have errors while updating the softwares… even the ultrasnow is having the error… is there anyone can unlock their phones right now? because my 3g can be unlocked because of the errors of ultrasnow in cydia…

After re-jailbreaking with Redsn0w 0.9.10b3 and installing appsync and installous , iPhone’s springboard crashes again and again and tells to restart to exit safe mode… anybody have any solution for this.. i am really fed-up with this..

  @ShamsTajulIslam i would say it could be jailbreak bugs or its just your iphone

Hey guys, Is anyone else having problems using Fivelrows?

I have an IPhone 4, version 5.0.1 using Redsn0w 0.9.10b3. I’ve installed Fivelrows at least 10 different times. Respringed each time, but nothing happens. It’s installed but it’s just not working.

Does anyone have any idea whats wrong? I’ve used Fivelrows before on this same phone. Never had a problem before.
