Earlier today, at WWDC, Apple released and announced the top of the range netbook in their line of MacBooks. The star of the show was this: The Retina Display Macbook pro. As it has all been a bit of a stressful experience, we thought we’d highlight some of the key features in this new MacBook unveiled at WWDC.
Retina Display: With a 15.4″ screen, the MBP packs a resolution of 2880 x 1800. This gives the laptop a huge pixel density of 220 ppi. Which will make for a stunning visual experience. It is of course, LED backlit. It also includes IPS Technology, to give it that extra punch and let Apple do what they do best.
Physical Dimensions: This is where the new MacBook Pro’s really excel. They are roughly the same thickness as a MacBook air, at only 0.71″ thick. They also just weigh 4.46 pounds, which is astounding for a computer of this specification.
Processor: The MBP comes in two processor configurations. The entry level is clocked at 2.3GHz, whereas the higher level MacBook is clocked at 2.6GHz. They are both running quad core CPU’s with the latest intel core i7 tech inside.
Storage & Memory: The new Macbook’s come with Solid State flash memory as standard. This allows for silent running, better read/write speeds and insane boot times. They can be configured up to 756GB. The MBP’s are also running 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L RAM, which can also be configured up to 16GB for you speed heads out there.
Connections & Ports: Both configurations of the new MacBook have the same ports. These are:
- MagSafe 2 power port
- Two Thunderbolt ports (up to 10 Gbps)
- Two USB 3 ports (up to 5 Gbps)
- HDMI port
- Headphone port
- SDXC Card Slot
We are extremely excited for these MacBooks. If you are too, you can pick them up today!
