The last carrier to receive the iPhone is T-Mobile. That has now changed with their Uncarrier event which was debuted today. The Deutsch-Telekom company announce their brand new 4G LTE network, alongside with the iPhone 5 and HTC One. This was expected as their PR reps. leaked some of the info before the event, and we had been speculating this for years. Here comes the real kicker. The iPhone 5 will cost $99 up front for the device, and then an additional $20/month for 24 months, which is the normal duration of a cellular contract. In terms of a plan, theoretically speaking, say you want the Unlimited Everything plan which will run you $70/month. Multiply that, and add everything together, you get a total of $2,260. Pretty genius, huh?

By not putting everything upfront for the customer, they are making it seem that T-Mobile is now the best option with the low prices. What do you think about this? Will you switch to T-Mobile?

Att plan is $140 mo incl taxes n fees plus $199 upfront is $3560 at the end of 24 mo. T-mo still a better deal.

how are they gonna sell the iphone 5 at half the cost?

    • christian

$99 is just the DOWN PAYMENT to get it going and then they charge you $20 for 24months so your phone is actually $579 with the $99 after 2 years not including the monthly plan you choose..
