Due to the nature of my job, I have to consistent sit staring at a screen all day with headphones on. This may be to stop my editing audio annoying other people around me, or because I am using them to monitor whilst recording. Either way, I use my headphones for hours on end – and I’ve been on the hunt for a while now for a seriously comfortable set to keep this bearable. Luckily for me, I found the Sony XB500s. For only $55 on Amazon, they pack a serious punch – and perform much higher than their price bracket. Below is my full video review:

I never take the XB500s out and about with me for 2 reasons: first is that they are huge, as displayed in the video above. Second is that they have quite bad sound leakage. It’s nothing major in your own house, but it’s getting to the point where strangers on the bus would probably get annoyed.

In short, the XB500s perform significantly outperform their price tag. If you’re looking for comfortable, relatively stylish headphones that deliver audio quality on par with some sub $200 headphones – the XB500s are a fantastic place to go. They can be picked up for $55 from Amazon, down from $80 so get it’s whilst it’s hot.

The sound is pretty good, I just don’t like the cord.
